Kojey Radical, the rapper behind the colossal single Water featuring Mahalia, talks to Cortex in this exclusive backstage interview at Bestival: ‘the most colourful show on earth’.

“I kept having this vision of getting to the gates of heaven... and seeing my boy that I lost at the start of this year.”

One of the UK's most talented prospects in the underground hip hop scene, the 25-year-old covers a plethora of subjects: from his two new single releases '97' and 'Pure' to his own definition of creativity.

Since spring-boarding his career with acclaimed single Open Hand in 2015, Kojey has proved himself a fresh up-and-coming talent with a track record of consistently strong releases.

“A lot of the time I’m listening to people that ain’t even thinking about their first EP let alone their first album.”
