︎    ARTIST FEATURE: KAT COLLINGS

KAT COLLINGS is a multidisciplinary artist devoted to exploring and fusing together a number of different art forms. Working within the field of contemporary dance has given Kat a deep understanding of the body’s expression. She is currently researching and experimenting with the various ways in which the body can be perceived; documenting this through the mediums of photography, film, illustration, fabric and poetry.

Recently awarded as winner of Dazed’s collaborative competition with Huawei, Kat captured dancers in motion. She is inspired by body language and how movement can be used to communicate and be percieved differently by each individual. 

Combining numerous artistic mediums to support and express her intentions, Kat is drawn to the art of expression and the beauty behind it. By exploring various textures, weights, cuts and styles of fabrics, Kat has created garments which enhance and amplify movement beyond the limbs.
